This morning Don returned to the inspection station, to get that embarrassing and ridiculous red FAILED sticker taken off our windshield. On the way home, he decided to stop at Rita's Water Ice, a delicious place to visit on a steamy hot day. We had many Rita's in PA, but here in NJ they're very scarce. This one, however, is technically the closest to our home, and was literally on the return route. He stood in line for two quarts -- mango and pina colada -- and service was painfully slow. As he looked around and started to really take note of his surroundings, he was shocked and amazed to find that he was standing directly across the street from ...
HOLSTEN'S!
The place of the very last scene of the Sopranos; the scene that ended years of a (fictional) family's saga; the scene that left viewers with mouths gaping open, either swearing at the TV screen or praising the genius of the show's creator (or both in one breath); the scene that was, or was not, responsible for the whacking of the fictional) mob boss (I say no). How fun to completely stumble upon something like this so unintentionally! The picture stinks, but what can you expect from a cell phone. I think that really made Don's day ... that, and a refreshing scoop of Rita's. He was very tempted to run in there and take out an order of their prized onion rings ... next time. Next time.
