This morning we sat huddled on the front porch, waiting for the bus. Aidan sidled over to me, a lop-sided and rather adult-looking grin on his face.
"So, Mommy," he said to me. "What special things do you have planned today?"
"Well," I replied, "I have to finish getting my list together, and then we're going to the grocery store."
"Oh," he said. "Just the grocery store today?"
"Yep," I answered. "That's all today."
"Oh," he said again. He put his mittened hand on my shoulder. "How about Toys 'R Us?"
